Lisa & Liz

1) Give us a brief history on yourself before becoming a Mom.

I refer to this stage of life as BK (aka before kids). I started modeling when I was 13 years old, having the opportunity the travel around the world and get to see the way people lived and ate which was extremely eye opening for a girl from Kentucky. I started hosting and acting in my early 20’s and finally went to fulfilled a major dream by attending culinary school which is still one of my favorite life experiences.

2) Tell us about your child (children). What makes them unique?

Kenya (10), Chloe (8) and Gemma (1) are truly beautiful, unique creatures. I’m always amazed that 3 such different beings could have come out of my body with the exact same genes.

3) What has been your greatest challenge since you’ve become a Mother?

Patience. I don’t know many parents that would disagree. I’ve taken every parenting class under the sun which have helped to give me to understand the way children’s brains work versus the adult brain. It allows me to enjoy even the most challenging moments in parenting.

4) What has been your lowest point in your motherhood journey? How did you survive it?

When my kids were 1 and 3 years old my husband started traveling for months at a time. It was brutal beyond words. Trying to be a caretaker, negotiator, supportive and loving all at the same time. I look back and know it was an incredible time to grow and learn, but at the time it was trying beyond words.

5) Do you have friends with similar challenges? Are you supported?

When I have friends with significant others traveling I feel beyond compassionate. I hold single mothers on a whole other level! It’s tough to do it on your own.

6) What is the best part about being a Mom?

You’re only as happy as your least happy child, so getting to watch the successful moments fills me with joy!

7)If you have a business, charity or cause you want to provide please provide details.

My business is One Potato an organic family friendly meal delivery company in CA, AZ, NV, OR, WA, UT, ID and CO. Every week you’re sent 3 meals that take around 30 minutes or less to prepare. The meals save me every week because I don’t have to shop or menu plan. Everything comes right to the front door and the kids love the food too, so it’s a win win.
